Nandan Nilekani absolutely needs no introduction.
This dynamic co-founder of Infosys has worked diligently for his organization. He led the company as CEO and MD from March 2002 to April 2007. His long list of achievements includes receiving Padma Bhushan award, co-founding NASSCOM, etc.
He recently created buzz by resigning from Infosys. And no, it wasn’t to get another lucrative job or to launch another organization. The man has been given the charge of UIAI (Unique Identification Authority of India). He has been appointed as the Chairman.
To think of it, he is indeed very suitable for this highly critical work. He has the experience of an enterpreneur, a leader and an IT professional. UIAI would definitely involve a lot of automation and software work. And who could be better than Mr. Nilekani himself to lead this project.
I’m sure this would be the most important project of his life – to serve his country take this significant step towards development.
Cheers to Nandan. Way to go!
