Oil Painting on Canvas Board
They say ‘An apple a day keeps doctor away’. Though some people might not like to keep the doctor away (especially if he or she is adorable and gorgeous), but a fresh red apple is indeed an energizing part of daily diet.
Glazing and Impasto are two most celebrated techniques in oil painting. It can create some interesting three dimensional effects. My paintings are never completely impasto or completly Glazing. For that matter a completely glazed painting will try my patience to the hilt. Ouch!
If you’re not familiar then impasto is a technique of applying paint thickly and glazing is a technique of applying multiple layers of thin color. And when I did glazing, it used to take ages for a single layer to dry as I used a lot of linseed oil. But now I’ve learned with experience, and my layers dry much faster.
Keeping technicalities apart, a painting is as real as it looks. Do tell me if you feel like reaching out for this apple, and having a bite!
